Eleanor O’Donnell O’Brien Scholarship

The Eleanor O’Donnell O’Brien Scholarship was established in 1998 by Edward W. O’Donnell ’71 to assist study abroad students. The criteria for the award are financial need, academic merit, and junior-class standing.

Marc LePage Memorial Scholarship

The Marc LePage Memorial Scholarship at Providence College was established by Marc’s parents to honor his short but remarkable life. Marc (1971-2002) was born and raised in Virginia. After attending Northern Virginia Community College, Marc became a part owner and manager of two art galleries in Virginia. He was also a Civil War buff and involved in the preservation of Civil War sites in Virginia. He had a gentle nature, and was generous with helping and counseling others in need. He was married to the former Daniele Godwin; they had no children. His father was the first Providence College student to spend his junior year studying abroad (University of Louvain, 1962-1963). The family felt that it was thus appropriate to establish a scholarship fund in Marc’s name. This scholarship is for students interested in studying abroad, with priority given to Fine Arts and Modern Language majors.

All eligible students are automatically considered provided they meet the Office of Financial Aid’s returning student filling deadline (i.e. FAFSA, CSS Profile and other supporting documents), demonstrate financial need, and meet the scholarship preferences.  Scholarships amounts vary each year and are subject to the College’s spending policy.  No separate application is required to be considered.

Providence College Fr. Smith Fellowship Program

The Fellowships enable students to undertake summer study or service at Catholic and Dominican sites outside the continental United States. The Fellowships cover travel, living, and incidental expenses. They also provide Fellows with a modest stipend. Fellowships are funded through the generosity of current and former members of the Providence College Board of Trustees, among others.
