Housing and Meals Abroad

Depending on the program, students will have the option of a student apartment, residence hall, or host family. Housing abroad will be different than what students are accustomed to at PC, and housing placements even in the same program will vary. For example, not all student apartments will be the same in appearance and size or the same distance from the program’s study center.

Most programs do not include a meal plan. Students will have access to kitchen facilities when this is the case. Even though a formal meal plan may not be charged, your student should be prepared to spend money on ingredients to prepare meals or on dining out. Students staying with host families will have a set number of meals provided by their host family.

Questions regarding housing should be directed to your student’s study abroad program since they are handling these arrangements. As mentioned, students pay their program directly for housing, and these fees should be paid by the deadlines set forth by the program.
