2027 Faculty Leaders
CIV in London is facilitated by two faculty members from Providence College. Each faculty member brings a variety of knowledge and experience to the program. Please see below to learn more about the faculty leaders for Spring 2027.

Stephanie Pocock Boeninger, Ph.D.
Associate Professor of English
Stephanie Pocock Boeninger is an associate professor of English with a focus on the modern and contemporary British and Irish drama. London is her favorite city in the world, which is why she studied abroad there three times as a student! She also led the first year of Civ in London in 2021 and had a fantastic experience. She is looking forward to introducing students to London’s amazing theatre scene, giving them tours of the incredible art museums, hosting students for dinner in her family’s flat, and enjoying the occasional high tea.

Licia Carlson, Ph.D.
Professor of Philosophy
Licia Carlson is a professor of philosophy and specializes in contemporary ethics, biomedical ethics, aesthetics, and the philosophy of disability. She is especially excited to be in London because of her interest in the history of medicine and disability rights, given the prominent place that London occupies in both of these areas. As a musician, she is also looking forward to sharing in the many cultural and musical opportunities with students.
