Faculty Leaders

CIV in London is facilitated by two faculty members from Providence College. Each faculty member brings a variety of knowledge and experience to the program. Please see below to learn more about the faculty leaders for Spring 2025.

Dr. Christopher Arroyo
Professor of Philosophy

Christopher Arroyo is a Professor of Philosophy whose research focuses on the moral philosophies of Philippa Foot and Elizabeth Anscombe, though, as an advisor to SHEPARD, he also publishes in the area of Catholic sexual ethics. He teaches Introduction to Philosophy and General Ethics, as well as DWC 201 and HON 201 & 202. Dr. Arroyo is also the Associate Editor of New Blackfriars, an academic journal of Christian theology and philosophy that is published by the Dominicans of the English Province. As most of his academic work focuses on London and Oxford, he is eager to teach in the “Civ in London” program in 2025.

Dr. Eric Bennett
Professor of English

Eric Bennett is a novelist and professor of English who teaches courses in fiction writing and modern and contemporary literature in the English department. He is an avid traveler who loves traveling as a writer (and amateur sketchbook artist). He has co-led PC trips to Italy, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Poland, and Hungary and can’t wait to add London to the list.
